Meeting Minutes

The State Board of Agricultural Research and Education’s Barley Granting Committee meeting was called to order at 4 p.m. on Dec. 15, 2008. Voting members present were Louis Arnold, Jim Broten, Richard Groven and Wayne Narum. Non-voting members present were Steve Edwardson and September Eschbach. Also present was Dr. Richard Horsley.

The committee had one proposal to consider:

Development of Feed Barley and Two-rowed Malting Barley Cultivars for North Dakota

Researchers: Richard Horsley, Paul Schwarz and Stephen Neat

Amount requested: $14,195

The objective of this project is to develop high yielding feed barley and two-rowed malting barley adapted for production in North Dakota

Decision

It was moved by Narum and seconded by Groven to grant negotiated funding of up to $14,195 to the project titled “Development of feed barley and two-rowed malting barley cultivars for North Dakota”. The motion carried unanimously.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
