Quentin Burdick Center for Cooperatives

Aldrich C. Bloomquist Lectureship Series

The Bloomquist Lectureship Series is supported by an endowment established by American Crystal Sugar Company. The series includes guest lectures and symposia on topics related to cooperatives and agribusiness. This annual lectureship series is a program of the Quentin N. Burdick Center for Cooperatives. The Burdick Center is an endowment program established at NDSU in 1992 through the efforts and the contributions of cooperatives and individuals throughout the region to increase understanding of cooperative business and their economic role through research and education.

The lectureship series honors Al Bloomquist, a former president and longtime executive at American Crystal Sugar. Bloomquist was a driving force in the development and success of the Red River Valley's farmer-owned cooperative sugar industry. He received an honorary degree from NDSU in 1992. In recognition of his contributions to the company and the industry, American Crystal has established this lectureship series through the Burdick Center for Cooperatives at NDSU.
