Western Cooperative Credit Union is a community-chartered credit union. Membership is open to anyone living within its field of membership, which includes: a 75 mile radius of Williston, N.D., a 50 mile radius of Dickinson, N.D. and a 50 mile radius of Hebron, N.D. Western Cooperative Credit Union (WCCU) was formed on June 14, 1938, by seven men that gathered together and pooled their resources, $17.50 to be exact, and formed a financial cooperative, which they named Williston Cooperative Credit Union. It was officially issued its charter on October 5, 1938.
