1. Paper Critique - 25 points

    Find a scientific journal article that interests you and involves an aspect of weed science. Write a summary and critique of the article evaluating not only how they conducted the research but also how well they interpreted the results. It is acceptable to find fault or have questions about the methods or conclusions. Please include a copy of the article when turning in the review. Due date is October 2nd.


2. Proposal - 75 points

    Use your paper critique as the foundation to develop a research question into a proposal. Include a brief literature search of at least 5 articles and incorporate your own ideas. Study design and methods should be identified. Why is this important? Can a benefit of the outcome be identified? Please include a timeline of the work and identify facilities and equipment that would be available for the study(ies). This proposal should have relevance to weed science. Due date is November 13th.

  Concise description
  Objectives
  Literature Review
  Rational/Significance/Justification
  Methodology
  Timetable
  Identification of equipment and space requirements
  Budget
