Assignments
- Participate in Library Learning Session/activities to identify peer-reviewed articles-10 pts.
- Participate in Career Center Session/activities to identify possible employers and info.-10 pts.
- Three-page (max.) outline for oral presentation-10 pts.
- Potential employer and article chosen by the student and approved by an instructor.
- At least one article must be peer-reviewed and not chosen by another student.
Breakdown of Grading for Outline
- First draft reviewed by fellow student in class-participation-5 pts.
- Second draft evaluated by instructors as follows-5pts.
Organization (Include: educational background, career goals, employer summary, and peer-reviewed article-2 pts.
Coverage (Why, how, and what of article)-2pts.
Inclusion (Properly cited data table or figure from article-1 pt.

One-page (max.) written job description based on fellow student employe-5pts: (Include: job title-1pt., employer info-2pts., qualifications-2pts.). The description must not be a copy of an existing description. To receive points for this assignment, it must be turned in to a class instructor by December 12. |

Individual Practice Session-5pts.
- Students will have the opportunity to practice their presentation on Mondays 1:00 to 1:50pm in either Loftsgard 360 or 362. Multimedia equipment and the room will be available only during this designated time. If a conflict exists, the student must make arrangements with Dr. Berzonsky for another practice session location and/or time.
- Students must sign up for this opportunity at least one week in advance to receive points, and they also must perform the practice to receive points. Note: No points will be given for practice sessions after a student's in-class oral presentation is made.

Twenty minute video-taped oral presentation-25 pts.
- Organization should follow the outline.
- Must be a PowerPoint computer presentation.
- Student prepares visuals and prepares to use equipment.
- Presentations burned to CD and transferred to class computer before presentation.
- Properly cite "data" table or "data" figure from peer-reviewed article.

Student/Instructor joint evaluation of video-taped presentation-10 pts.
- After presentations, students will receive a video CD of their presentation and their instructor evaluations. Students will have the opportunity to view and evaluate their presentation with the instructor. To receive points for the evaluation, students must participate in the evaluation at the scheduled time (3-3:50pm Mondays) or arrange for a separate time to complete the evaluation.

Seminar Participation-Questions (1 pt./question = 5 pts. max.)
- To receive 1 pt., student must ask at least one question of the presenter and submit their question in writing on the presentation evaluation form for that specific presenter. A maximum of 1 pt. for questions will be awarded for each student for a single day of presentations, and the instructor reserves the right to stop the question-answer period on any given presentation date.
