• 2006 to Present: Professor, Dept. of Plant Sciences, North Dakota State University, Fargo, ND
• 1997 - 2006: Associate Professor, Extension Weed Specialist, Dept. of Plant Sciences, NDSU, Fargo, ND
  90:10 Extension research appointment with responsibilities for education, training and all extension activities in weed control and herbicide use in North Dakota for all crops except sugarbeets. Crops include small grains, flax, corn, soybeans, dry bean, sunflower, safflower, mustard crops, edible and forage legume crops, potatoes, sorghum, grass and pasture, CRP, fallow, and several specialty crops
  Conduct weed control research in corn, soybeans, dry beans, sunflower, alfalfa and some specialty crops.
  Research new and emerging weed problems.
  Prepare and submit Section 18 emergency exemption registrations for use on minor crops.
  North Dakota IR-4 State Liaison and IR-4 Field Research Director.

  Developed weed science resource material and provided basic to advanced weed science training to ag chemical sales and technical representatives, dealers, consultants and agronomists throughout the Midwest and the prairie provinces of Canada
  

Background and Experience

• Raised on livestock and crop production farms in Utah, Idaho, Montana and a 20,000 acre farm in British Columbia (Peace River Region), Canada.
