- Lived in North Central Texas as a youth working on family farms producing cotton, wheat, alfalfa and sorghum. Assisted in a family truck farming operation producing pecans, peaches, okra, melons and peas. Supplemented income during college as a manager of a small greenhouse and landscaping operation.
