Course objectives:

To describe the general inherent qualities, benefits and management of forests in the United States, with particular reference to those found in the Great Plains. These include naturally-regenerated and planted forests in both rural and urban environments. A variety of teaching tools - including lectures, videos and hands-on projects - will help students to learn subject.

Text:

There is no textbook for this course. However, several publications and other handouts will be provided to support certain sections of the course.

Exams are scheduled as noted below. Any exam makeup without prior arrangement or documented personal emergency will be penalized 15 points. Makeup exams will differ from the original and will be made up when all absentees can arrange a common time. There will be no makeup of pop quizzes unless you inform the instructor that you will be absent or you have a required absence (with prior notification).
