We have established an advisory board, comprised of a single member from each departmental user group that participated in the grant preparation (i.e. Plant Pathology, Plant Sciences, and USDA-ARS) to help advice the manager and resolve any conflicts that may arise. The advisory board members are selected on a four-year basis and will be expanded as other projects/programmatic areas decide to incorporate the use of these instruments into their research/teaching activities. This advisory board will elect a manager among themselves on a rotating two-year appointment basis. The PI (Kianian) will serve as the first rotating manager of this equipment resource. The role of this manager is to handle budgetary, instructional and personnel issues arising as a result of a large number of users of these instruments.
