Natural Resources Management Club

The NRM Club's goal is to enrich the college experience for undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in the management of naural resources by providing opportunities for social interaction, service, personal and professional development and career contacts.

The Club participates in social events like camping and hiking; local community service activities like river cleanup, wood duck box maintenance and Earth Day;  career exploration field trips and tours; guest speakers; annual scholarship fundraiser. It provides members with opportunities to network with other students about classes, schedules, internships, scholarships and job experience.

  • Listens to speakers on topics such as global warming and wind energy

  • Educates members about what they may encounter when they begin careers in natural resources management

  • Helps maintain River Keepers' wood duck boxes in local parks

  • Helps clean up a one-mile stretch of the Red River in Fargo's Trollwood Park each fall and spring

  • Participates in activities such as camping, hiking, snowshoeing, broomball and bowling

  • Takes a career trip each spring to meet with professionals in the natural resources management field

  • Holds a picnic each fall and spring

The surrounding region is rich with study and recreational opportunities for students interested in natural resources.  North Dakota offers land reclamation projects, vast grasslands and wetlands, a major bird flyway, wildlife, and much more.

Exceptional natural resources can be enjoyed at the Badlands, Lake Sakakawea, and Theodore Roosevelt National Park.  Northern Minnesota also has numerous forests, lakes, wetland preservation areas and parks to explore, all within a relatively short travel distance.

Belonging to the NRM Club will develop excellent contacts to help you begin your career, as well as assist you to gain leadership and teamwork experience.  it is also an excellent opportunity to meet people.

Membership in the Club is open to all NDSU, MSU and Concordia undergraduate and graduate students with an interest in natural resources.  A $10 annual membership fee helps fund club activities.  Contact Gretchen Bromley at 701.231.5619 for more information or to join.
