"Earth Week" April 18th - 27th Events and Education to fill the F-M Area - For information about more family activities, seminars and events, visit the Earth Week Web site at http://www.fmearthweek.com/  Learn Green. Live Green is the theme of the 2008 Fargo-Moorhead Earth Week. Several events have been scheduled around the F-M community by local cities, counties, organizations and individuals all working together to provide opportunities for residents to learn more about protecting our environment, and to encourage people to live green everyday with practical tips and ideas.


"Reforest the Red" Help the Fargo Park District, Cass County Soil Conservation District, Sierra Club and River Keepers Reforest the Red and plant 1000 trees and shrubs along the Red River during Earth Week!   Sunday, April 27, 2008 Noon to 4 PM.

The Tri-College NEW (National Education for Women's) Leadership Development Institute will be held June 5-9, 2008 at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN.  The intensive five-day residential program is designed to provide leadership training, inspiration, and support for women who do not have extensive leadership experience.  For information and applications visit http://appserv.mnstate.edu/whitede/conference or call Deb White at 218-477-2041.   Applications will be accepted until March 28, 2008.


The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) has issued a news release explaining that wooden planter boxes sold by Lowes (and maybe other outlets) came from a quarantined area in Indiana and may possibly harbor emerald ash borers (EAB).
