Study Name: Weed control in dry beans Study Number: 9911 Objectives: Evaluate weed control with registered and experimental herbicides Results: Dry bean stands were reduced approximately 25% in the Valor treatments. Spartan did not cause a stand reduction. Raptor + Quad 7 caused some initial leaf discoloration, but the dry beans quickly recovered. Dry bean yield in the Spartan plot was lower than that of Valor primarily due to lack of grass control. Raptor or Raptor + Basagran combinations effectively controlled foxtails, wild oat, redroot pigweed, and wild mustard. Raptor was notably weaker on wild buckwheat which made harvest more difficult. Valor, Spartan, and Python were fair to excellent on redroot pigweed. Valor and Spartan somewhat suppressed wild buckwheat, however, lack of grass control probably aided in shading and holding down wild buckwheat. Table. Weed control in dry beans.
