He is a member of the American Society of Animal Scientists, Society of Range Management, Hettinger Area Chamber of Commerce: Ag Committee and Rodeo Committee, Borderline Singers, Cowboy Band, and EMT for West River Ambulance.

Research Interests:
His research interests are nutritional management of grazing livestock, nutritional management of feedlot cattle and sheep, and grazing strategies to improve the ecologic and economic
sustainability of livestock production in Southwestern North Dakota.

Director Hettinger Research and Extension Center.

Current Project(s):
His current projects are evaluating winter supplementation and grazing strategies that decrease winter feeding costs of beef cattle and sheep. Other projects areselenium supplementation of
feedlot lambs for the development of a high-selenium lamb product and the effect of multi- and
single-species grazing on leafy spurge infested rangelands. He is also evaluating the grazing
and cropping systems that may be utilized for carbon sequestration and alternative
feedstuffs for feedlot diets of lambs.
