Mission

MISSION

The primary mission of this research center is to enhance net farm income through in-depth trade and agricultural policy research for crop producers, ranchers, and decision makers in private and public sectors in the Northern Plains region
 
The Center focuses on economic research and outreach activities for the Northern Plains region in the following areas:
 
 

Agricultural trade policies, multilateral trade treaties, regional/bilateral trade agreements, and cross-border trade issues in North America;

 

Macroeconomic and agricultural policies, net farm income, and agricultural competitiveness.
 

 Development of foreign markets under the changing trade environment; and
 

 Economics of bio-energy production and climate change.
 
 
The center publishes annual outlooks for the North Dakota farm economy, the United States and world wheat industries, and the United States and world sugar industries.
