The Variety Release Committee met on January 18, 2000. Enclosed are yield data and agronomic descriptions for two new varieties that will be released through the Seed Increase Program to County Crop Improvement Associations for the Year 2000.  They were other varieties approved for release by the Director, NDAES but there was not enough seed to release to the counties for the 1999 growing season.  Yield and agronomic characteristics for these 4 varieties are summarized in the accompanying tables.

• Alsen HRSW   (Proposed name for HRSW line ND716)

• Barnes Soybean  (Proposed name for Soybean line ND95-931)

The Seed Allocation Committee expects to meet on February 7th prior to the start of the NDCISA Annual Meeting in Minot to make seed allocations.  That being the case, your indication of your county's interest in the above 2 additional varieties requires a quick turnaround.
