SUBJECT: 1999 County Allocations and Contracts for

MAIER and MOUNTRAIL Durum

PARSHALL and REEDER HRSW
CATHAY and PEMBINA Flax

Enclosed are Allocation Sheets for the County Crop Improvement Associations for the new Variety Releases listed above. Blank copies of the Seed Increase Agreement are enclosed. Please note your bushel allocations on these sheets. There have been some adjustments following e-mails I sent on 3/2/99 and 3/8/99. Barring some unforeseen problem, the figures on these sheets should represent the final bushels you are being offered. Supplies of Parshall and Reeder are adequate in the event you want more seed for your county. Let Paulette or me know as soon as possible if you do. There is NO more seed available of the remaining four varieties.

Following the policy established in 1995, the contracts need to be signed and the seed paid for within two weeks of receipt of the contracts. The deadline for return of the signed contracts and seed payments to Paulette Neva will be March 26, 1999. Make checks payable to foundation Seedstocks. As soon as the contracts have been returned a grower list will be compiled and the seed will be moved to the appropriate Research Center for distribution. You will be notified of the location where you can pick up your seed. Since space for seed storage at the Research Centers is becoming critical, we would like to move and distribute seed as soon as possible. Your contract copies returned to this office will also serve as the source for a list provided to the ND State Seed Department for field inspections.

Seed of all the 1999 variety releases was adequate to provide an allocation to all counties that requested seed. Consequently, there will be NO NDCISA State Pool for any of these varieties for Year 2000.

If your county decides to decline all or part of your county allocation, please notify Paulette Neva (701-231-8067) or me (701-231-9633) as soon as possible so the seed can be re-allocated to others that may want more. Allocations that are turned back after the seed is moved for distribution or seed that is not picked up from the REC will be subject to a 20% re-stocking fee by Foundation Seedstocks. Please call if you have any questions.
