Parshall hard red spring wheat was released by the North Dakota Agriculture Experiment Station in the spring of 1999.
Parshall is a conventional height, awned variety with good adaption for North Dakota and the surrounding region. In multiple yield trials Parshall averaged about 1 bu/a more than 2375 and 4 bu/A more than Butte 86. Parshall has good lodging resistance and shattering resistance slightly better than 2375. Parshall has better resistance to leaf disease than 2375 and Butte 86. It also has excellent test weight. Parshall has good milling and baking quality.
Parshall is named after Parshall North Dakota located in the west-central part of the state.
Plant Variety Protection under title V will be sought for Parshall.
