Prevent Disease in Flax

Disease in flax can be controlled by a combination of seed treatment, use of resistant varieties and crop rotation.

Captan, Mancozeb products, and Thiram are available as seed treatments for prevention of seedling blight.

Most varieties of flax are resistant to rust. Check variety description for varieties that are resistant to wilt.

Flax should be rotated with small grains to break disease cycles.
