Farm Bill Information

• Base and Yield Update Calculator.  This program is an education tool for evaluating the base and yield options, under the Farm Security and Rural Investment Act of 2002, for determining decoupled (direct and counter-cyclical) payments. It is recommended that you check this site periodically as the software will be updated if there are changes in FSA rules. Developed by Andrew Swenson and Dwight Aakre, Department of Agribusiness and Applied Economics. Updated 10/4/02 to include FSA rule change on eligible oilseed calculation. Updated feed barley prices on 11/04/02.  Excel

• North Dakota "Plug" Yields. The higher of the "plug" and your actual yield each year are used in determining your 1998-2001 average yield from which calculations are made to establish payment yields for oilseeds and to update yields for counter-cyclical payments (if bases are updated). pdf
