NDPIAP Crop Profiles
A crop profile reviews how a commodity is produced, with emphasis on critical pest
management needs - including the role of pesticides in integrated pest managament (IPM)
and resistance management programs. Initiated by the Office of Pest Management Policy
(OPMP) in May 1998, the development of crop profiles is coordinated in each state by the
land-grant university liaison to the Pesticide Impact Assessment Program. Development
involves extensive collaboration among land-grant faculty and growers.
The result: a visible, accessible public tool for USDA, EPA, growers and
