Photo Tips
for digital and other forms of
photography
Stance
- Move around to find the best picture. You don't have to stand to take a picture. You can
kneel or lie down. Lying down is especially good for photographing things near the ground,
such as plants or insects. Or try climbing to a higher
position.
- If you stand, slightly spread your feet in a stance that's comfortable.
- Lean against a solid object or rest your elbows on one. Hold your breath at the instant of
exposure. Watch for when the movement is least.
- You can also hold your camera on a wall or fence for extra steadiness.
- Test your camera to see how close you can be and still take sharp pictures (see
Better Close-ups).
