Symptoms

Elongated brown spots, 2 to 10mm in length appear on the leaves and stems. Brown areas are surrounded by yellow tissue.

Caused by: Bipolaris sorokiniana

Control measures:

  • Resistant varieties
  • Reduction of continuous barley
  • Reducing infected stubble
  • Use of fungicides
