Pegasus Mail is the freeware mail client recommended and supported by Agriculture Communication Computer Services (ACCS). Pegasus is a robust and easy-to-use program that will allow the user to receive and send files from both POP3 and IMAP e-mail systems. It also allows multiple user acces. This means that more than one user may send and receive e-mail through a single installation of pegasus. This does not mean that each user can read the other's mail. Pegasus creates seperate accounts and mail folders for each person and requires that they enter a pre-created username to access it. Pegasus also has the ability to filter e-mail. This is especially useful in creating filters to try clean out of the spam that continues to increase daily. Here are a number of instructional pages and documents on Pegasus that you might find helpful and setting up and configuring the program:
If you are using Pegasus Mail at home and are experiencing difficulties it may be due to your Internet Service Provider's (ISP's) network security configuration. Most of the time users experiencing this problem may have difficulty sending e-mail while still receiving with no problems (click here for a list of known ISPs affected). Other unknown symptoms or difficulties may also occur. If this situation arises, you will need to contact your ISP's support line for information on how to work around this difficulty. |
